1. Who we are
Daywick is published by KeyGrow LLC, 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“Keygrow”, “we”, “us”). For privacy questions and requests, write to info@keygrow.co.
2. The short version
- Daywick works on your phone. You do not need an account. We do not run a server that receives your alarms, missions, streaks, sleep times, prayer times or prayer log.
- The camera is used live, on your phone, only during missions that need it. Nothing is recorded or uploaded. The only picture the app keeps is a reference photo you take yourself for the “Match a photo” mission, and it stays on your phone.
- Location is approximate and only for Muslim prayer mode, which is optional and off unless you turn it on. It is used on your phone to work out prayer times and is not sent to us.
- Your prayer log is private. It stays on your phone.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. A service called RevenueCat receives limited, anonymous purchase information so we can tell whether you have Premium.
- This version of Daywick shows no ads. See Advertising (when enabled).
- You can delete the data Daywick keeps on your phone at any time with Settings › Privacy › Delete all data, or by uninstalling the app.
3. Data that stays on your phone
Daywick stores the following only on your device. We cannot see it.
- Alarms: times, days, labels, sounds, snooze, missions and Wake Check settings. A copy is kept by the phone’s alarm system so alarms ring even when the app is closed.
- Alarm history (“Morning receipts”): when an alarm rang, was snoozed or dismissed, Wake Check results, and safe exits.
- Streak, garden and milestones, so the app can show your progress.
- Sleep sessions: when you said you were going to sleep and the planned wake time, and your sleep settings.
- Mission settings, including any phrase you type for a “Type a phrase” mission.
- Registered codes for “Scan a code”: a name you give the code and a fingerprint (a keyed hash) of it. The code itself is not stored.
- Reference photos for “Match a photo”, saved in the app’s private storage with location and camera metadata removed.
- Muslim prayer mode data (only if you turn it on): your place (a city name, or a location rounded to about 110 metres), calculation settings, reminders, and your prayer log. See section 5.
- App settings: language, appearance, and your choices in Settings.
- A diagnostics log: technical events and error codes, kept in two small files that overwrite themselves (about 512 KB each). It does not contain alarm labels, typed phrases, codes, photos, locations or prayer data. It does contain the app version, phone model, operating system version and coded events such as “alarm scheduled”. It leaves your phone only if you tap Export diagnostics log in Settings and choose where to send it.
- Widget data: the information widgets show (such as your next alarm and your run), kept in files shared between the app and its widgets on your phone.
Device backups. Daywick asks Android and iOS to keep its database, reference photos and similar files out of device backups and phone-to-phone transfers. Your operating system may still include small settings files in a backup under your own account. We cannot access those backups.
Lock Screen and widgets. Alarm names, widgets and notifications can be visible on your Lock Screen. In Settings you can turn off “Show alarm names on the Lock Screen” or turn on “Generic notification text”. On Android, notifications also follow your phone’s own setting for hiding sensitive content.
4. Permissions and why
Camera
Daywick asks for the camera only when you turn on a mission that needs it, and uses it only while that mission, its practice or its setup is on screen.
- Scan a code: live camera frames are checked for a QR code or product barcode.
- Push-ups and squats: live frames are analysed for body position (points such as shoulders and knees) to count repetitions. Each frame is discarded after it is analysed.
- Match a photo: live frames are compared with your reference photo using a numeric summary of each image.
All of this happens on your phone. On Android it uses Google’s ML Kit libraries bundled inside the app; on iPhone it uses Apple’s Vision framework. No photo or video is recorded, saved or uploaded by Daywick, and the microphone is not used. On Android, Google documents that the ML Kit libraries may send technical usage and performance information about the library itself to Google; this is not camera images. You can refuse or withdraw camera access in your phone’s settings and use missions that do not need the camera (Math, Type a phrase, Shake, Walk).
Location (approximate, Muslim prayer mode only)
Location is used only to calculate prayer times and the Fajr alarm, and only if you turn on Muslim prayer mode. You can pick your city from a list built into the app (no location permission needed) or let the app use your location once. We ask only for approximate location, only while you are using the app, and never for background location. Your place is stored on your phone as a city name and a point rounded to about 110 metres, and is not sent to us. If you turn on “Check my location when I open Daywick”, the app takes one approximate reading when you open it (only if you already allowed location) to tell you if you have travelled, and asks before changing anything.
Notifications
Alarms, reminders and Wake Check prompts use notifications and the system’s alarm services on your phone. These are local: there is no push-notification server and no marketing notifications. You choose which reminders you get.
Exact alarms, full-screen alarm screen and background running (Android)
Daywick is an alarm clock, so on Android it uses the exact-alarm permission so alarms ring at the minute you set, a full-screen alarm screen so you can see and stop a ringing alarm on a locked phone, a foreground service while an alarm is ringing, permission to keep the screen on and vibrate, and a boot-completed signal to set your alarms again after the phone restarts. None of these collect data. On iPhone with iOS 26 or later, Daywick uses Apple’s AlarmKit; on earlier versions it uses local notifications.
Motion
Shake and Walk missions read the phone’s motion sensors while the mission is on screen, to count shakes and steps. The readings are processed in real time on your phone and not stored; only the result (for example “mission done”) is kept in your alarm history.
Internet
The app connects to the internet only for purchases (see section 6). Alarms, missions and prayer times are calculated on your phone.
5. Muslim prayer mode and your prayer log
Muslim prayer mode is optional and off unless you choose it. If you use it, your prayer times, settings, prayer log and the optional “Woke for Fajr” count can reveal your religion, which is sensitive information under laws such as the GDPR and some US state laws. Daywick treats it accordingly:
- It stays on your phone. It is not sent to us, to RevenueCat, or to any analytics service.
- It is never used for advertising, and nothing about prayer mode would be included in an ad request if ads are enabled in the future.
- It does not count towards streaks and is not shown in streak widgets or shared cards.
- You can export your prayer log as a file only when you choose to, through your phone’s share sheet.
- You can delete it with Delete all data or by uninstalling the app.
Daywick does not check whether you prayed and makes no religious claims. Prayer times are calculated estimates.
6. Purchases (Daywick Premium)
Daywick Premium is optional. Payments are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. We never see your card or bank details.
To unlock Premium on your devices we use RevenueCat, which acts as our service provider. RevenueCat receives your store purchase records (what you bought, when, and its status), a random app user ID that RevenueCat creates and that is not linked to your name or email, and technical information needed to communicate with its servers (such as app version, platform and IP address). We do not send RevenueCat your name, email or any other personal attribute, and its device-identifier collection is turned off. Your Premium status is also stored on your phone so Premium works offline.
7. Advertising (when enabled)
Daywick currently shows no ads. This version does not show ads and does not request them.
We may add ads to a later version. If we do, we will update this policy before ads are turned on, and tell you in the app. At that point this section will explain, at least:
- that ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC) and what Google’s advertising software collects, such as your IP address (from which it estimates a general location), advertising and device identifiers (on Android, the advertising ID and app set ID), ad views and taps, and diagnostic data;
- that Google’s consent tool would ask for your consent where the law requires it, and where you could change or withdraw that choice;
- how you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your phone’s settings; and
- that nothing from your alarms, sleep records, prayer mode or prayer log would be used for ads.
8. Analytics and crash reports
- Usage data (“Share anonymous usage data”) is off by default. In this version no analytics service is connected, so turning the switch on does not send data anywhere. If we connect one, we will update this policy and name it before any data is sent. It would only ever cover coded counts such as “a test alarm rang”, never alarm names, phrases, photos, places or prayer data.
- Crash reports stay on your phone in the diagnostics log (section 3). We do not use a crash-reporting service. If you choose to send us the log, we use it only to fix the problem.
9. Sharing you start, and email
Some features let you share something through your phone’s share sheet: a celebration card, a printable QR code sticker, your prayer log as a file, or the diagnostics log. Nothing is shared unless you pick an app and send it. Celebration cards never include alarm names, places, photos, codes or anything from prayer mode.
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use them only to reply and to improve the app.
10. Who receives data
- Apple and Google: purchases made through their stores. They act under their own privacy policies.
- RevenueCat, Inc.: purchase records, an anonymous app user ID and technical data, as our service provider.
- Google (Android camera libraries): possible technical usage and performance information about Google’s ML Kit libraries, as described in section 4. No images.
- Authorities: only if the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
11. International transfers
Daywick keeps your app data on your phone, so we do not transfer it. The services listed above (Apple, Google and RevenueCat) process data in the United States and other countries. Where data about you from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, it is protected by safeguards those providers use, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
- Data on your phone: we do not receive it. Storing it on your device is necessary to provide the features you ask for.
- Purchases through Apple or Google, and RevenueCat: performance of a contract (to provide Premium you bought).
- Diagnostics you send us: your consent, and our legitimate interest in fixing problems you report.
- Support emails: our legitimate interest in answering you.
- Advertising (when enabled): your consent, collected before any ad is requested.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. You can see and delete most Daywick data yourself in the app, because it stays on your phone. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, email us at info@keygrow.co with your App Store or Google Play order ID so we can find the anonymous record, and we will ask RevenueCat to delete it. Apple and Google hold their own purchase records under their own policies. We do not sell personal information.
14. Deleting your data
- Settings › Privacy › Delete all data removes the alarms, history, streaks, codes, photos, prayer log entries and settings that Daywick keeps on this phone, and cancels the alarms it scheduled. This cannot be undone. Premium stays with your store account and can be restored.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything Daywick stored on the phone, including the small diagnostics files.
- Purchase records at RevenueCat: email us (section 13).
15. How long we keep data
- On your phone: until you delete it in the app or uninstall. The diagnostics log overwrites itself.
- RevenueCat: as long as needed to provide Premium and meet legal obligations, under RevenueCat’s own terms.
- Emails or diagnostics you send us: only as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
16. Security
Daywick has no account system and keeps your data in the app’s private storage, protected by your phone’s own security. Registered codes are stored only as keyed fingerprints, and the key stays in your phone’s secure storage. Network traffic between the app’s purchase services and their servers is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure.
17. Children
Daywick is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
18. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. For important changes, such as turning on ads or connecting an analytics service, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
