Frequently asked questions

Will my alarm ring?

Daywick uses your phone’s own alarm services so alarms can ring when the app is closed. But no alarm app can promise it, because phone makers, battery savers, silent modes, volume settings and operating system updates can stop an alarm. To check your phone:

  1. Open Settings › Will it ring? and follow what it flags.
  2. Run the 5-second test alarm (below) with your phone locked.
  3. Make sure alarm volume is up, and that Do Not Disturb or Focus allows alarms.
  4. Never rely on one alarm for something critical. Set a backup. See also the safety notes in our Terms.
The 5-second test alarm

Go to Settings › Test alarm. It rings in 5 seconds so you can lock your phone, put it down and hear exactly what a real alarm does on your phone. Run it again after you change battery settings, update your phone, or switch Do Not Disturb or Focus modes. If it does not ring, use the battery steps below.

Battery optimization on Android (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus and others)

Many Android brands add their own battery savers on top of Android and may stop alarms in the background. If your test alarm is late or silent, open your phone’s settings for Daywick and try the steps for your brand. Menu names differ between phone models and versions.

  • Samsung: add Daywick to “Never sleeping apps” (Settings › Battery › Background usage limits), and turn off “Put unused apps to sleep”.
  • Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO: turn on Autostart for Daywick; set battery saver for Daywick to “No restrictions”; lock the app in the Recents screen; allow “Show on lock screen” and “Display pop-up windows while running in the background”.
  • Huawei, Honor: in App launch, set Daywick to manage manually and allow Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background.
  • OnePlus, OPPO, realme: allow auto-launch for Daywick, set battery optimization to not optimized, and turn off deep optimization.
  • vivo, iQOO: in Battery, set Background power consumption to allow for Daywick.
  • Google Pixel and other phones: in Settings › Apps › Daywick › Battery, choose Unrestricted if the test alarm is late.

The site dontkillmyapp.com keeps current instructions for many brands. Also check that notifications are allowed for Daywick, that the alarm volume is up, and that Daywick has permission to show alarms on the lock screen (Android 14 and later: “full-screen notifications” in the app’s notification settings).

iPhone tips
  • On iOS 26 and later, Daywick uses Apple’s alarm service, which can ring in Silent mode and through Focus modes.
  • On iOS 17 to 25, alarms are notifications. They follow the Silent switch and ring only in Focus modes that allow Time Sensitive notifications, so keep notifications on and Time Sensitive delivery allowed for Daywick.
  • Hiding Daywick or locking it behind Face ID can stop alarms from firing. Keep the app visible.
  • Run the 5-second test alarm to confirm what happens on your phone.
How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us. Deleting the app does not cancel them.

  • Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose Daywick, and tap Cancel subscription.
  • App Store: open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Daywick and tap Cancel. Or use Manage subscription in the app’s Settings.

If you cancel during a free trial, do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends on the App Store. You keep Premium until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google; see our Terms.

How do I restore my purchases?

Open Daywick, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases (it is also on the Premium screen). Use the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with, and an internet connection. A lifetime purchase and any active subscription come back. If it says nothing was found, check that you are signed in to the right store account, then email us with your order number.

How do I delete my data?

Daywick keeps your data on your phone and has no account. Either:

  • open Settings › Privacy › Delete all data (this removes your alarms, history, streaks, codes, photos, prayer log and settings from the phone and cancels the alarms), or
  • uninstall the app.

Your Premium status is held by Apple or Google and can be restored. To delete purchase records held for the app by our purchase service, email us. See the Privacy Policy.

Is Muslim prayer mode optional?

Yes. It is off unless you choose it during setup or in Settings. While it is off, nothing prayer-related shows in the app. If you turn it on, prayer times are calculated on your phone from your city or one approximate location reading. They are estimates and can differ from your local mosque’s timetable, so check with your mosque for times that matter to you. Your prayer log stays on your phone. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I report a bug?

Email info@keygrow.co and include:

  • your phone make and model, and the Android or iOS version;
  • the Daywick version (Settings › About);
  • what you did, what you expected and what happened instead;
  • for alarm problems: the alarm time and days, which mission it uses, whether the phone was locked, charging or in a power-saving mode, and whether the 5-second test alarm worked;
  • a screenshot, if it helps. Please hide anything private.

Optionally, attach the diagnostics file: Settings › Export diagnostics log. It holds technical events only (no alarm names, phrases, photos, locations or prayer data), and it is sent only if you choose to send it.
