SEO for supplement & vitamin brands
Show up when shoppers search ingredients, goals, and stacks (creatine, ashwagandha, magnesium glycinate, daily greens). We grow organic revenue for nutraceutical ecommerce, with subscribe and save LTV that pays SEO back month after month.
Trusted by Leading Brands Across Industries
Paid traffic stopped paying back in supplements
Supplement shoppers do their homework. They read studies, ask Reddit about doses, compare third-party test results, watch a fitness creator break down a stack. SEO is how you show up in that research window, not 15 seconds before they bounce off a paid ad.
What slows supplement brands down
Amazon owns your branded SERP
Search your own product name and the first three results are an Amazon listing, an iHerb page, and a Walmart marketplace seller. You bid Google Ads against your own brand just to defend the click.
Paid social no longer works
Meta and TikTok flag half your ad copy for unapproved health claims. CPMs are up, attribution is blurry, and one disapproval cascade can kill a launch week. You need a channel Meta cannot disable on a weekend.
Affiliate publishers sit on every keyword
Healthline, Examine.com, ConsumerLab, Verywell Health. They earned a decade of authority writing ingredient roundups. Their reviews mention brands you compete with and never link back to you.
FDA rules box in your copy
Say "treats anxiety" or "cures insomnia" and you trigger a drug claim. Most copywriters either play it so safe the page does not rank, or push too far and earn a warning letter. There is a narrow middle that works.
Why supplement SEO compounds
Supplement buyers reorder for years
A bottle of magnesium runs out in 30 days. Protein in 4 weeks. Greens in 30. Once a shopper finds you organically, locks in subscribe and save, and likes the product, that revenue line keeps drawing every month. The subscription tail is what makes supplements one of the highest-LTV niches in ecommerce.
Built for nutraceutical ecommerce
Our SEO work is built around how supplement shoppers actually search: ingredient + goal, dose + bodyweight, stack + protocol, third-party-tested + brand. We know which structure / function language passes FDA review and which schema Google rewards on YMYL product pages.
How supplement SEO actually moves organic revenue
Product pages built around ingredient and dose
A creatine SKU page should rank for the brand name and for the underlying ingredient story. We optimize PDPs for queries like "creatine monohydrate 5g strength," "magnesium glycinate 400mg sleep," and "ashwagandha KSM-66 600mg stress." The supplement facts panel, dose call-outs, and stacking guidance all do SEO work.
Goal + ingredient long tails
The best-converting queries combine an outcome with a specific active. "Magnesium glycinate for shift work sleep." "Ashwagandha for cortisol PCOS." "Creatine for endurance vegan." Individually small volume, but they stack into meaningful traffic once you cover the matrix fully.
Stack and protocol content
"Morning stack focus energy," "sleep stack magnesium glycine theanine," "pre-workout stack creatine beta alanine." Protocol pages are where shoppers commit to 2 to 4 SKUs at once. We build them as guided conversion paths with shoppable blocks inside, not blog posts that hope someone clicks through to a category.
E-E-A-T for health claims
Google ranks supplement content under YMYL, so authorship matters more than in fashion or general ecommerce. Pages reviewed by a registered dietitian, pharmacist, or MD, with citations to PubMed studies and surfaced certificates of analysis, outrank anonymous content for the same query. We also keep every line of copy inside FDA structure / function rules so claims stay clean.
The numbers behind supplements SEO
Supplements are one of the highest-LTV ecommerce verticals because subscribe and save plus 30-day cycle products compound over a 24-month window. Every organic visitor you land has outsized lifetime value.

Why supplement brands are pulling spend into SEO
Supplement SEO now beats paid social on year-over-year payback for most brands. Here is what changes once organic becomes your primary growth channel.
Lower CAC, higher reorder LTV
Supplement CPCs on Meta now clear $5 for fitness verticals, more on cognitive and sleep. Organic visits cost nothing once a page ranks, and the auto-ship reorder rate stretches payback across many months.
FDA-aware by default
Every line of copy is drafted against the structure / function rule, with required disclaimers built into the PDP template. No warning letters, no Meta disapprovals over disease claims that should never have shipped.
Subscription-aware content
We segment traffic by cycle length. A monthly multivitamin is a different conversion story than a creatine loading phase or a 90-day immune stack. On-page copy is tuned to each replenishment rhythm.
Compounds quietly in the background
A solid ingredient hub on creatine monohydrate or ashwagandha can rank for 300+ long tails and pull steady traffic for years. Paid traffic ends the second you stop the campaign. Organic does not.
Built for cross-border rollout
CBD rules in the UK, Novel Food in the EU, TGA in Australia, Health Canada licences. Ingredient legality breaks a single-template site fast. We build hreflang and locale-specific PDPs so the same SKU does not get pulled in one market.
High-intent search traffic
Someone Googling "ashwagandha KSM-66 600mg stress sleep" is one click from checkout. Our content meets them at the decision moment, not at the top of a six-step paid funnel.
The complete supplements SEO stack
Six service lines built specifically for supplements and nutraceutical ecommerce. We run them in parallel because product pages, ingredient hubs, and digital PR feed each other.
Product Page SEO
Supplement PDPs need a clear supplement facts panel, dose call-outs, third-party test surfacing, and tight schema. We rebuild every priority PDP to rank for brand SKU plus ingredient + goal long tails.
What's included:
Ingredient Pillar Pages
Long-form education hubs for creatine, ashwagandha, magnesium glycinate, omega-3, vitamin D, electrolytes, mushroom adaptogens, and pre-workout actives. They rank, build authority, and convert from inside the article.
What's included:
Goal-Led Content
Sleep, focus, recovery, gut health, hormone balance, immunity, longevity. Each goal gets its own hub plus collection landing pages tuned to the audience (athlete, perimenopause, shift worker).
What's included:
Technical & Speed
Supplement sites pile on label shots, supplement facts images, lab COA PDFs, and ingredient galleries. We compress, lazy-load, and ship a sub-2.5s LCP without hiding the trust signals on the page.
What's included:
Review & UGC SEO
Loox, Okendo, Yotpo, or Stamped data parsed for SEO. Star ratings in SERPs. Q&A blocks that rank for dose and stacking long tails. Reviews surfaced as fresh content Google rewards.
What's included:
Supplements Digital PR
Links from Men's Health, Women's Health, Outside, Self, Verywell, and RD-led publications. We pitch ingredient stories, third-party-test angles, and founder POV pieces editors actually want.

Generalist agencies treat supplements like any other ecommerce brief. We treat it as a regulated, ingredient-driven, repeat-purchase vertical, because that is what it is.
We speak supplement science
KSM-66 vs Sensoril, monohydrate vs HCl, glycinate vs citrate, EPA vs DHA ratios. We know the formulation chemistry so writers do not need a translator between the founder and the SEO brief.
FDA & FTC fluent
Structure / function rules, DSHEA-compliant claim language, required disclaimers built into PDP templates. No warning letters, no Meta disapprovals, no rewriting after launch because someone said "cures."
Built for Shopify and headless
Fluent in Shopify Plus, Recharge, Skio, Stay AI, Bold subscriptions, Sanity, Contentful, and custom Next.js stacks. PDP rewrites slot into how your actual templates render.
Revenue-first reporting
Reports track organic-attributed revenue, subscription attach rate by landing page, and reorder cohort by acquisition keyword. Rankings are a leading indicator, not the scoreboard.
International from day one
Hreflang, country variants, ingredient swaps for EU vs US (CBD, Novel Food, higher-dose vitamin D), locale-specific schema. If you plan to launch UK or APAC, we lay groundwork in month two.
Cancel any time
Month to month. No 12-month contracts that lock founders in past the point of value. Most supplement brands stay because the organic line keeps stacking auto-ship revenue.
searches for ingredient + goal queries each month in the US
Where that traffic ends up:
Amazon, iHerb, Walmart, or Healthline
Reaches indie / DTC supplement brands
in unreached annual revenue for a mid-size supplement brand not ranking
Every supplement search you skip, a marketplace takes the LTV
When a shopper Googles your category and clicks Amazon, you lose the first order and every reorder. Amazon promotes the next listing on the auto-ship reminder, often a competitor with a lower price and a fatter margin for Amazon. SEO is how you keep that LTV in-house.
See where Amazon, iHerb, and Healthline rank for your top SKUs vs your own site. No commitment.
From buried PDP to category-leading search
A 6-step engagement built for supplement and nutraceutical ecommerce. Technical, content, and PR run in parallel so the first wins show up in months 3 to 4, not nine.
Audit & Ingredient Map
We map every SKU to its actives, dose, goal, and search demand. Then we benchmark against Amazon, Walmart, iHerb, Healthline, and Examine.com on each priority cluster.
Key deliverables:
Technical & Schema
Image compression for label shots, faceted-nav rules for flavor and size variants, Product + AggregateRating + Review schema, NutritionInformation where applicable, hreflang if international.
Key deliverables:
PDP Rewrites
Each priority PDP gets rewritten around active dose, third-party testing, goal targeting, and compliant structure / function language. COA links and certifications get surfaced on-page.
Key deliverables:
Ingredient & Goal Hubs
Long-form pillar pages for creatine, ashwagandha, magnesium glycinate, omega-3, vitamin D, electrolytes. Goal hubs for sleep, focus, recovery, immunity. Each links into the SKUs that fit.

Dominate the searches that actually move supplements
First-page positions for the queries supplement buyers use during their decision window. Traffic compounds, and the subscribe and save revenue behind it stacks every month.
Outrank Amazon on your own products
Reclaim branded SKU queries. Your DTC page should sit at position one when someone Googles your product name, not the Amazon marketplace listing for the same bottle.
Own ingredient + goal queries
Rank for "creatine monohydrate strength," "ashwagandha for stress sleep," "magnesium glycinate insomnia." Specific, high-intent searches that convert into subscribe and save orders.
Goal-led collection pages
Sleep, focus, recovery, gut health, hormone balance, immunity. We build collection pages that rank as category authorities and convert from inside the page itself.
Stack and protocol dominance
"Morning stack focus energy," "PCOS supplement stack," "pre-workout stack creatine beta alanine." Protocol pages convert at 3x average PDP because shoppers arrive ready to add 2 to 4 SKUs.
International category ownership
Rank in the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia with country-specific PDPs and hreflang. No CBD claim issues, no Novel Food trip-ups, no duplicate-content drag.

Supplements rank slower than fashion (YMYL signals are strict, and affiliate publishers have a decade of authority) but reorder LTV is the highest in ecommerce. Here is what a realistic ramp looks like.
Foundation
Technical audit, schema rollout, top-20 PDP rewrites, and the first two ingredient hubs. Branded SKU defense starts pulling Amazon back from position one in month 2.
Acceleration
Ingredient hubs hit page one for mid-volume queries. Goal hubs (sleep, focus, recovery) start converting. Subscribe and save attach rate from organic visitors begins to compound.
Category Authority
Top 3 rankings for priority ingredient and goal queries. Organic becomes the primary acquisition channel. Subscribe and save cohort from organic visible in retention reports.
Market Leader
You are the source dietitians, fitness creators, and Reddit cite. International stores live, new SKU launches inherit the topical authority you spent year one building.
A supplement buyer is a 24-month asset (if you hold them)
A paid Meta visitor buys once, ghosts, and never reorders. An organic visitor finds your magnesium page, locks in subscribe and save, adds the daily greens in month three, and is still active two years later. SEO buys you that customer at a fraction of paid CAC.

We build a keyword map specific to your SKUs, target goals, ingredient set, and competitor lineup. The output: a 12-month content plan any writer can pick up and execute against.
Questions supplement founders actually ask us
Twelve real questions we get on intro calls with supplement and nutraceutical brands. Honest answers, no fluff.
Branded SKU pages usually reclaim position one or two within 6 to 10 weeks, since Amazon and Walmart are the main competitors and they rarely have your unique formulation story. Ingredient queries like "creatine monohydrate" or "magnesium glycinate for sleep" take 4 to 6 months because affiliate sites (Healthline, Examine.com, ConsumerLab) have years of authority. The compounding piece is subscribe and save: an organic customer who locks in a monthly auto-ship in month four is still ordering 18 months later.
On the right queries, yes. Generic education head terms like "what is creatine" go to Healthline. You will not beat them there and trying is a budget drain. Where you can win: your own SKU name, ingredient plus goal long tails like "ashwagandha for stress sleep dose," brand plus comparison queries, and bundle or stack pages. The trick is to stop competing with affiliate sites for queries they were built to win, and instead own the queries built for product pages.
Every line gets reviewed against the FDA structure / function rule before it goes live. "Supports healthy cortisol levels" is allowed. "Lowers cortisol" is a disease claim and crosses into drug territory. "Boosts immune function" is allowed; "prevents the flu" is not. We also build the required disclaimer block into PDP templates and ingredient hubs so nothing ships without the "These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA" footer where applicable.
Product schema with brand, SKU, GTIN, price, availability, and AggregateRating is the floor. NutritionInformation schema where it applies. Individual Review markup so stars show in SERPs. For ingredient hubs we use Article plus Author schema with a credentialed reviewer (RD, MD, or pharmacist) for YMYL trust. We avoid HowTo markup for dosing because Google has rolled it back, and we are careful with Drug schema since most supplements should not use it.
Two angles. First, defend branded queries: your own .com should outrank your Amazon listing for "[brand] [product]." That is mostly a schema, on-page, and link recovery job, and it usually clicks into place inside 60 days. Second, win the queries Amazon is bad at: ingredient education, stacking advice, dose-by-goal pages, third-party-tested comparisons. Amazon listings cannot publish that depth and Google increasingly demotes thin commerce pages on YMYL queries.
Yes, and it changes how we choose target queries. The math of supplements lives in month 4, not month 1. We weight content around products with proven LTV (multivitamins, daily greens, protein, sleep stacks) and we build CRO flows around subscription opt-in directly on the PDP. The on-page copy talks about cycle length, when to reorder, and why the subscribe price beats Amazon, all of which also feeds the long tail Google reads.
Heavily. r/Supplements, r/Nootropics, r/Fitness, r/Powerlifting, and r/PEDs (for legal supplement discussion) all rank for high-intent queries now. Strategy is presence, not paid placement. We help founders run AMAs, contribute to ingredient threads, and earn mentions in stack roundups in a way that follows each subreddit's self-promotion rules. Citations there move both the Reddit listing and Google's perception of brand authority.
Critical for two reasons. First, "third party tested" plus the actual lab (Eurofins, Labdoor, NSF, USP, Informed Sport) is a high-intent search filter. We surface that copy and the certification badges on PDP and category pages. Second, E-E-A-T: showing a real certificate of analysis (COA) with a lab name beats vague trust copy in YMYL ranking. We host COAs on linkable pages so reviews and forum threads can point to them.
Yes. Ingredient legality differs by region in ways that break a one-size-fits-all PDP. CBD is fine in most of the US, regulated in the UK, restricted in parts of the EU. Higher-dose vitamin D, certain mushroom extracts, and pre-workout stimulants all hit different rules per country. We build hreflang variants per locale and maintain a claim and ingredient sheet so the UK store does not get pulled for copy that ships in the US.
For your top selling ingredients, yes. A creatine page for strength, for endurance, and for cognitive use will pick up different long tails and convert different audiences. The trade-off is content debt. The rule we use is to spin a goal-specific variant only when keyword research shows real volume (200+ monthly at the long-tail level) and the on-page copy genuinely differs in dose, stacking advice, or evidence. Otherwise it just splits your authority.
Faceted nav is where most supplement sites leak crawl budget. Chocolate, vanilla, 1 lb, 2 lb, 5 lb, single tub, three pack. Each can spawn a URL Google sees as duplicate. We canonical variants to a parent SKU page where the product is genuinely identical, and we only let a variant get its own indexable URL when the flavor or pack size has real keyword demand ("vanilla whey protein 5lb"). Done right, it cuts wasted crawl and concentrates ranking signals on the parent.
Review schema pulls stars into the SERP, which lifts CTR by 25 to 40% on competitive PDPs (people trust visible social proof on health buys). The text inside reviews is also some of the richest unique content on a supplement page, full of goal mentions ("for shift work sleep"), dose anecdotes, and ingredient call-outs. We render review text on-page (not iframed Loox or Yotpo widgets) so Google can crawl it, and we surface third-party certifications inline so trust signals are part of the indexable body, not buried in a tab.
