Organic posts and paid ads, funded and judged apart

Dallas Social Media Marketing

Organic posts build a following you keep. Paid ads rent attention from people who have never heard of you. Those are different jobs with different math. We fund and measure them apart, so you can see which one is paying off.

Why KeyGrow

Dallas social media marketing runs on two budgets

Dallas social media marketing from KeyGrow covers both halves of the job. Organic posts build a following you keep. Social media advertising in Dallas puts an offer in front of people who do not know you yet. We split your budget between the two before we make any content. Then we report each one on its own numbers, so you know what every dollar did.

One budget, three jobs, no way to tell what worked

The usual setup is one monthly amount for a posting calendar, some design time and a few boosts. Three jobs come out of one pot, and the month-end report shows reach and likes. Nothing in it says whether the money would have done more in one place.

Boosting is where we see the most waste, because it looks like a safe middle. Meta says a boosted post is an ad made from a post already on your page, and it suggests boosting posts that did well. That can widen your reach. Our worry is the audience. The post worked because your followers know you, and strangers do not.

Boosts carry other limits too. You cannot edit the text, image or video once the ad is live. Meta opts boosted ads into multi-advertiser ads by default, which you have to switch off in Ads Manager. And boosting from the Facebook app on an iPhone may add a 30% Apple fee.

Two lines, two jobs, two scorecards

Our Dallas social media marketing work starts with the split, before we plan any content. The organic line builds and holds an audience, and we judge it on saves, shares, messages and repeat viewers. The paid line puts an offer in front of new people, and we judge it on cost per lead. Each line gets content made for its own job.

The split is rarely even. A business with a loyal local following and a full schedule may need very little paid. A new location with no audience may put most of its budget into ads for a few months and let the organic account look thin. We will tell you which one you are.

Budget Before Calendar

We set the paid and organic split first, because it decides what content we make. Set it later and one kind of post ends up trying to do both jobs.

Separate Scorecards

Organic reports saves, shares and messages. Paid reports cost per lead. Neither one borrows the other's numbers to look better than it is.

Ads Made for Strangers

An ad for people who have never heard of you needs a different opening, offer and length than a post for fans. We make both, on purpose.

Common Challenges

The problems we solve in Dallas, Texas

What we tend to find when a Dallas account gets its first honest audit.

The Boost Button as Strategy

Spend goes to whichever post already did well with followers. It feels safe, and it is rarely the best use of an ad dollar.

One Report for Two Jobs

Reach and likes shown as the result. Those describe organic work fairly well and paid work hardly at all.

Paid Clicks Sent to a Profile

Ads that point at a page or profile instead of an offer a stranger can act on. The click is bought, then left with nowhere to go.

Followers as the Target

Follower counts rise with posts that never sell anything. Buying fake followers is worse, because an FTC rule in effect since October 2024 bans it.

One Creative Everywhere

A single image resized for every spot. Feed, Stories and Reels behave differently enough that one asset rarely fits all three.

No Retargeting at All

A follow-up ad to people who already visited or engaged is often the cheapest paid social there is. Plenty of accounts never set it up.

Local Market

Social media advertising in Dallas and when Google Ads fits better

Social ads interrupt. Almost nobody scrolling a feed is shopping for a plumber at that moment, so the ad has to earn attention fast. That suits things people buy when reminded: a meal, a class, a new look, a project they keep putting off.

Search works the other way. Someone typing "AC repair" into Google wants help now, and Google Ads or SEO meets them right there. If most of your jobs start with a search, put your first dollars into search. Then use social ads to stay in front of people who already visited.

Plenty of Dallas businesses need both. The split decides how much goes where, and the two reports show whether that guess was right.

Dallas businesses where the paid and organic split matters most

  • Restaurants and bars with a weekly special
  • Fitness studios selling memberships
  • Med spas and other elective services
  • Home services with busy and slow seasons
  • Shops with a storefront and a local crowd
  • Event venues filling open dates
  • New locations opening without an audience
Running It In-House

Doing Dallas social media marketing yourself or bringing us in

Plenty of Dallas businesses should run their own organic social, and we will say so. The table shows which parts tend to survive a busy week.

Factor
In-House
KeyGrow
Voice
Nobody knows the business like the people in it, and followers can tell. This is a real in-house edge.
We can plan, produce and measure. We cannot fake the voice of your business.
Consistency
Posting holds up until a busy stretch, then stops. That is the most common failure, and it has nothing to do with skill.
Content made in batches ahead of time, so the calendar does not need a quiet week.
WINNER
Paid Setup
The boost button, because Ads Manager takes time to learn and boosting does not.
Campaigns built in Ads Manager, split by how well people know you, with retargeting in place.
WINNER
Measurement
Whatever the app dashboard shows, which leans toward numbers that feel good.
Paid and organic reported apart, then checked against your own sales records.
WINNER
Rules
Easy to miss, like the FTC ban on fake followers and the rules on paid reviews.
We review ads and testimonials against FTC rules and Meta's ad policies before launch.
WINNER
Replies
Best done in-house. A real answer from the owner beats a polished one from an agency.
We would rather you kept this, and we will tell you so.
Cash Cost
Your own hours, plus tools and boost spend, plus a 30% Apple fee if you boost from an iPhone.
Our fee, quoted after an audit, plus the ad spend Meta bills to your own account.
Commitment
Ongoing, and it competes with running the business.
Month to month, and your accounts stay in your name the whole time.
WINNER

Running it yourself, honestly

Organic social done in-house can work well, and it wins on voice.
What breaks is frequency, and it breaks in your busiest weeks.
Paid social is the part that rarely works in-house, because boosting is easy and Ads Manager is not.
If you have the time and only want organic, run it yourself and save the money for a few good ads.
Usual result:Two busy months of posts, then silence

That is not a discipline problem. Content that depends on spare time stops when a growing business runs out of spare time.

WHAT YOU GET

Bringing us in

Where Dallas social media ads should land

A profile works for people who already know you. Paid social sends people who do not, so the landing spot has to introduce you from scratch.

Built for a Stranger

The visitor met you seconds ago in a video they did not choose to watch. The page cannot assume anything your site usually assumes.

One Offer, One Next Step

The page carries the exact thing the ad promised, with one clear action. A homepage full of choices wastes most of the click.

Lead Forms, Set Up With Care

Meta's instant forms keep people in the app. Meta recommends a privacy policy link and says to contact leads only for the reason you collected their details. We also check the multi-advertiser setting.

Paid Social Strategy

The paid half of Dallas social media marketing

Nobody on a feed is looking for you. That one fact changes what the ad has to do, and what you can expect the money to produce.

Interruption, Not Capture

Search ads meet someone who asked. A social ad interrupts something else, so its opening has to earn the rest. More budget cannot fix a weak opening.

Cold, Warm and Past Customers

Three groups that need three messages and three offers. One campaign aimed at all of them pays cold prices for warm results.

Retargeting Early

We build audiences of site visitors and people who engaged before we spend much on strangers. Meta does not recommend Advantage+ audience for retargeting, so we set those up by hand.

A Place to Land

Paid clicks need a page or form built for someone who met you seconds ago. A busy homepage loses most of what you paid for.

Plenty of Fresh Creative

Paid social wears ads out fast. A steady supply of decent ads beats one polished ad that goes stale in a few weeks.

Where the paid budget goes

Feed and Stories
The core of most budgets, split by how well people know you, with creative made for each group.
Reels
Short vertical video. It punishes ads built for a static feed, so we cut video for it on purpose.
Retargeting
Site visitors, video viewers and people who engaged. Small budgets that often pay off well, and often missing.
Lead forms and chat
Forms inside the app, or ads that start a chat, for buyers who would rather not visit a website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Social Media in Dallas, Texas, answered

Questions Dallas owners ask about splitting the budget and running ads.

You choose the ad budget, and Meta bills it to your own ad account. The rest depends on how much creative the ads need, how many platforms you run and whether you also want organic posts. We quote after a free audit, not from a one-size package.

Nothing, as a quick test, and Meta suggests it. The catch is that the post worked because your followers know you, and strangers do not. You also cannot edit a boosted post once it is live, so we build most paid ads in Ads Manager instead.

It depends on whether you already have an audience. A business with a loyal local following and steady work may need very little paid. A new location with nobody following it should lean on ads for the first few months. No default ratio is worth trusting.

No. One platform done well beats four done poorly. For paid, one Meta campaign can run across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and Threads, and Meta says more placements do not raise the cost.

Paid ads can bring leads within days of launch. Organic takes months, and its early numbers tell you very little. That is why we set up the paid line first, since it can bring in leads while the audience grows.

Lead forms keep people inside the app, which can mean more leads who know less about you. Check the multi-advertiser setting, because Meta can show other businesses' ads right after someone submits your form. A landing page gives you more room to explain the offer.

Yes, if they are real. The FTC says you can feature customer comments in ads, but you must disclose any payment or perk a customer expected. Its rule on fake reviews also bans paying for reviews that have to be positive.

Two reports, one per budget. Organic shows saves, shares, messages and returning viewers, while paid shows cost per lead and how many leads became customers. Meta can credit a sale up to 7 days after a click, or 1 day after a view. So we check its numbers against your own sales records.

Usually within a day or two. Meta reviews most ads within 24 hours, though some take longer. Any edit to targeting or creative sends the ad back through review, so we batch changes instead of tweaking every day.

You approve every ad and post before it runs. Your pages, ad accounts, followers and content library stay yours. We work month to month, so you can leave anytime and take all of it with you.
