Waco web design, with the math shown

Waco web design has to pay for itself, because most businesses here are small. So we show you the math up front. You give us your average job value and profit margin, and we work out how many extra jobs each plan needs to break even. For many owners, the $1,400 plan gets there in a handful of jobs.

  • Your break-even numberYou know how many extra jobs the site has to win before you sign anything.
  • A site sized to your ticketEnough pages to sell your work and no extra ones to pay for.
  • Photos that sell the jobReal shots of your work, placed where a buyer decides to call or move on.
  • A way to check the paybackLeads you can count, so in a few months you know if the site earned its keep.

Our work

Sites we built for owner-run businesses

Two of these are junk removal companies, and one came to us with no website and no logo. Click any card to see the full build.

Why KeyGrow

Why our Waco web design starts with your numbers

An agency that earns more on big builds has a reason to skip the math. We would rather sell you the right size and keep you as a client.

Here is the math we run with every owner. Say your average job is $400 and you keep 40% of it as profit. That is $160 a job. Our $1,400 plan pays for itself after 9 extra jobs, since 1,400 divided by 160 is 8.75, and nobody sells three quarters of a job.

Now change the ticket. A $60 job at the same 40% margin earns you $24. The same site now needs 59 extra jobs. That can still happen, but it is a much bigger ask.

So we size the site to your numbers. A big ticket can carry a bigger build. A small ticket usually calls for a simple site. That means a few pages, real photos of your work and a booking form that works on a phone. If even that is more than you need, we will say so.

Break-even before the invoice

You see what each plan has to earn back before you pay us a cent.

We suggest less when less works

If your ticket is small, we suggest the smallest site that works, even a do-it-yourself template.

Results with dates on them

A lead page we built for Qualify Before You Buy lifted its conversion rate 85% in 4 weeks. Our Easy Cleanouts rebuild raised lead forms 180% in 8 weeks.

Prices that hold still

Three flat prices, posted on this page, so the number you divide by stays put.

Local guide

What Waco's numbers mean for your website budget

Most businesses here are small, and a lot of them are new. Both facts change how big a site makes sense.

Most employers are small

Small crews are the norm in McLennan County. In 2023, 2,868 of its 5,928 employer locations had fewer than five people on the payroll.

What it means for your siteWith a small crew, every marketing dollar has to come back. So we run your break-even before we suggest a plan, and we point small teams to the plan that covers their services and no more.

Many owners work alone

Another 20,626 McLennan County businesses ran with no paid staff at all in 2023.

What it means for your siteIf you are the whole team, you are also the web person. We build on WordPress and show you how to change prices, photos and hours yourself, so small edits never turn into an invoice.

A jump in new business filings

Business applications in McLennan County reached 3,395 in 2025, up from 1,703 in 2019.

What it means for your siteA new business has no average ticket to plug in yet. We use your best estimate, keep the build modest and set up your forms so you can count leads from week one.

Side by side

Jobs needed to break even, a worked example

Find the row closest to what you keep from an average job. Each cell shows how many extra jobs that plan needs to pay for itself.

Business plan, $1,400Premium plan, $2,800
$25 profit per job56 jobs112 jobs
$50 profit per job28 jobs56 jobs
$100 profit per job14 jobs28 jobs
$200 profit per job7 jobs14 jobs
$400 profit per job4 jobs7 jobs
$800 profit per job2 jobs4 jobs

These numbers are an example, not a result. Each cell is the plan price divided by the profit per job, rounded up to a whole job. Profit per job is your average job value times your margin, so a $250 job at a 40% margin earns $100.

How it works

From your numbers to a live site

Four steps and about five weeks for a simple site. The math comes first, before you pay anything.

Want to plan ahead? Our guide walks through each step of a small business build

  1. Before you pay

    The payback call

You tell us your average job value and margin. We show you the break-even for each plan. Rough numbers are fine.

  2. Week 1

    The fewest pages that work

We pick the smallest page list that covers your services, then gather your photos, logo and details.

  3. Weeks 2 to 3

    Copy and design

We write the words and design the pages around your photos. You approve both before we build.

  4. Weeks 3 to 5

    Test and launch

We test every form on a phone, then launch your WordPress site. For the first 30 days, bug fixes cost nothing.

Calculator

Try it with your own figures

Type in your average job value and the share you keep as profit. You will see how many extra jobs each plan needs to pay for itself.

Profit per job: $200

  • Business Website $1,4007 jobs
  • Premium Website $2,80014 jobs
  • Enterprise Website $5,60028 jobs

Extra jobs the site has to bring in to pay for itself.

Use real figures, not hopeful ones, and lean low on margin if you are not sure. The extra jobs only count if the new site brought them in, so keep track of where each new customer came from.

Thinking about an online store? Run the same math first. Stores usually cost $5,000 to $15,000, so each order has to carry a lot more profit to pay one back.

FAQ

Money questions owners ask us

The cost and payback questions we hear most from small business owners. Still curious? Email sales@keygrow.co.

$1,400 buys our Business Website plan: up to six pages, written and built for you, paid once. Divide that by your profit per job to see your break-even. The $2,800 and $5,600 plans are for bigger sites and for sites with 30 or more pages.

Multiply your average job value by your profit margin to get your profit per job. Divide the plan price by that number and round up. The answer is how many extra jobs the site needs to bring in.

Make a careful guess, then check it later. Guessing low is safer, because a lower margin means more jobs to break even. Last year's books or your accountant can give you a firmer number.

When each job earns a lot, or when you sell many services that each need a page. At $400 profit a job, the $2,800 plan pays back in 7 jobs. At $50 profit, it needs 56.

Yes. If each job earns you very little and people mostly need your number and some photos, a do-it-yourself template can be enough. Just make sure the contact form works on a phone. We will tell you if that is your situation.

Only if your records back it up. If a new customer comes back three times a year, one win is worth more than one job. Use your real repeat rate, not a hopeful guess.

It depends on how many extra jobs it brings in each month. Say the site needs 9 jobs and brings in 3 a month. It pays back in three months. We cannot promise the 3, but we can show you the 9.

A site of a few pages takes four to five weeks. Larger sites usually take six to eight. The payback call comes first, so you know your numbers before work starts.

Yes. Every plan is a WordPress build, and we show you how to edit text, prices and photos. You only pay for help with bigger changes, through a care plan or one-off work.

Ask every new customer how they found you and keep a simple tally. We can also connect your forms to Google Analytics. After a few months, compare the count with your break-even number.

They can. Clear photos of real jobs help a stranger trust you enough to call, and those calls are where extra jobs come from. Photos also cost far less than extra pages.
