Website design for landscapers that sells the third summer

Website design for landscapers has an odd problem to solve: your work looks its thinnest on the day you finish. We build sites that show the same project over seasons and years. Plant choices match your clients' winters and water, and maintenance shows up as the reason the yard keeps looking good. Design consults and maintenance quotes each get their own form.

  • Projects shown over timeThe same view at install, at one year and beyond, so buyers see what they are really paying for.
  • Plants matched to the zonePlant lists name the hardiness zone and the water each plant needs, so the design reads as planned.
  • Maintenance in the storyCare plans sit beside the design work, because the year-three photo depends on them.
  • Two clear pathsDesign-build clients book a consult. Maintenance clients ask for a quote. Neither has to wade through the other's pages.

Why KeyGrow

Why hire KeyGrow for a landscaping site

We start from one fact about your trade: the work looks better every year, and few sites ever show it.

Most trades photograph a job on the last day, because that is when it looks best. Yours is the one trade where the last day is the low point. Fresh mulch, small plants and bare soil between them. Three summers later the same bed is full, and few firms go back to take that picture.

So we build the site around time. Each project page holds the same view at install, after the first season and a year or more later. A winter shot shows the bones of the design. Plant lists name the zone you planted for, and maintenance is the reason the later photos look the way they do.

We also split your two buyers. Someone planning a new backyard wants ideas and a design consult. A property manager wants a steady crew on a schedule. Each one gets a path of its own.

We set up the return visits

A site built on time needs fresh photos from the same spots. We give you a short schedule so the habit sticks.

We write for two buyers

A homeowner dreaming about a patio and a manager who needs mowing on schedule read different pages. We write both.

A new site from nothing

MN Junk Removal had no website and no logo. We built its brand, its logo and a site with 6+ service pages in 6 weeks.

Honest about small jobs

If you mostly mow and trim, a four-page site with a quote form may be plenty. We will tell you that up front.

Industry guide

What shapes a landscaping site

Plants, water and reviews: three things federal agencies have weighed in on, and how each one shows up on your site.

The zone map moved

USDA released a new Plant Hardiness Zone Map in November 2023, its first update since 2012. About half the country shifted to the next warmer half zone.

What it means for your sitePlant lists on your site name the zone you planted for. We also check any old plant guide against the 2023 map before it goes back up.

Yards use more water than showers

EPA WaterSense says residential outdoor water use in the U.S. comes to nearly 8 billion gallons a day, mainly for landscape irrigation. The average household uses more water outdoors than for showering and washing clothes combined.

What it means for your siteIf you design low-water beds or drip systems, your project pages say so and show the yard a year later. A lower water bill is a reason to hire you, so the site spells it out.

Fake reviews now carry penalties

An FTC rule announced in August 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards for reviews that must be positive. It also bans threats used to get bad reviews taken down, and the FTC can seek civil penalties from people who break it knowingly.

What it means for your siteWe set up review requests that go to every client the same way, timed after a full season so the yard shows your work. No discount ever depends on a good rating.

What you get

Inside our website design for landscapers

Built around the one edge your trade has: the work keeps getting better after you leave.

Project pages that age well

One page per project with install-day, first-season and later photos from the same spots, plus the plant list.

A design-build path

Ideas, past projects and a consult form that asks for yard size, sun, slope and a budget range.

A maintenance path

Care plans and visit schedules in plain words, with a quote form for homeowners and property managers.

Water-smart pages

If you design drip systems or low-water beds, the site explains them and shows the result a year on.

Photo galleries that stay fast

A landscaping site carries more photos than most. We size and compress every image so pages still load quickly on phones.

How it works

Six steps to a site that shows growth

We plan the build around your slow season when we can, so photo days do not fight your busiest weeks.

Want to plan ahead? Our checklist for keeping a site fresh

  1. Week 1

    Pick the projects

We choose the jobs with the best before-and-after story, including any you can still photograph from the same spots.

  2. Week 1

    Split the buyers

We decide what the design-build pages and the maintenance pages each need to say, and what each form asks.

  3. Weeks 2 to 3

    Gather photos and notes

You send install and later photos, plant lists and care notes. We flag the gaps a return visit could fill.

  4. Weeks 3 to 5

    Write and design

You approve designs for the home page and one project page first, while our writers draft the rest.

  5. Weeks 5 to 7

    Build on WordPress

We build the site, size the photos for phones and test both forms until each lead reaches the right inbox.

  6. Weeks 7 to 8

    Launch and a photo routine

You go live with a simple schedule for return photos. Any bug that turns up in the first 30 days, we fix for free.

Checklist

A photo plan for every new project

Six habits that turn one install into proof for years. None of them needs a pro photographer.

  • Mark your spots before you digPick two or three places to stand and write them down. Every later photo comes from the same spots.
  • Shoot install day anywayIt is the low point, and that is useful. It makes the later photos look as good as they really are.
  • Go back after the first seasonA few months in, plants have rooted and started to fill. Ask the client if you can stop by for ten minutes.
  • Return at one year and at threeThese are the photos that win jobs. Set a calendar reminder the day you finish.
  • Take one winter shotBare months show the structure of a design. A bed that still looks good in January says a lot about your work.
  • Write down what you plantedKeep the plant list, the zone and the watering setup with the photos. That turns a picture into a project page.

FAQ

Questions about website design for landscapers

What to know about photos, plants, reviews and price before you rebuild your site. Still curious? Email sales@keygrow.co.

Yes, but never on their own. Pair each install shot with the same view after a season or a year. The contrast does the selling, and it shows you know how plants grow.

Ask past clients for ten minutes to take a few pictures, and offer a quick plant check while you are there. Start with the yards you finished two or three years ago.

Yes, but on separate paths. A homeowner planning a new yard and a manager who needs weekly service read different things. Each path gets its own pages and its own form.

Crew size, a set schedule, proof of insurance and what happens when rain cancels a visit. Homeowners look for design ideas instead, so commercial work gets a page of its own.

Yes. Name the plants and the hardiness zone you designed for. USDA updated the zone map in 2023, so a client who checks it can see your choices suit their yard.

Not if the reward depends on a good rating. The FTC rule from 2024 bans rewards tied to positive reviews. Ask every client the same way, and time it after a full season.

Yes. We can add a sign-up form or connect the scheduling tool you already use. A recurring client can pick a plan and a start date without a phone call.

For most design-build or maintenance firms, yes: that plan covers six pages, paid once, with the writing included. If you add commercial work and a page per big project, it becomes a bigger site at $2,800.

About two months before you need it, since most sites take six to eight weeks. Photo days go faster in your slow season, and the site can launch before every later photo is in hand.

Yes. Each project page has a slot for every return visit, so adding the one-year photo takes a few minutes in WordPress. We show you how at launch.
